I remember someone (Anderton’s I think?) doing a walkthrough/showcase video of Epiphone guitars at the 2019 NAMM show and spotting a lefty Jack Casady bass in the lineup. So hopefully it’s a real thing.

Emailed them. It’s legit and they say they expect to have them in stock around June or July

Oh, man, I've wanted one of these since they were first introduced. The first year they came out, Jack himself claimed that lefties were going to be available, and Epiphone were forced to contradict him and say no after I contacted them about putting in an order. Hope this really happens.

I had a righty for a minute. The down side (and a feature that they hype about this bass by the way) is that the pickup is super low output. I thought the pickup was hot fucking garbage because of that, but if these come out I’d still get one and maybe have it wound hotter.

Oh. My.
I have wanted one of those ever since they came out and was dashed when they never offered them lefthanded.

I would be a buyer as well

I'm so in for this in its own right, but especially after a fruitless 5 year search for a gibson midtown

I'm really tempted, never owned a bass in that style and it looks great and at a very decent price.
I wonder what these weigh.
It's a hollow body so would it be lighter than something like a Fender P or J?

Oh man. I would love me one, and have it rerouted for a Bisonic, Darkstar or something similar.

Curious about why you'd want to replace the stock pickup.
Is the one that comes with it known to be inferior?

I haven't GASsed for a bass in years but here I must admit...Isn't this low-impedence pickup a big part of what this bass is?

I have a friend in Florida who wanted one so he contacted the store and they said no international shipping.
That blows.
Maybe you guys should contact the store as well just to make sure.

I did on Reverb, just to see if the production of lefties was really a thing (it is according to them).
I would expect they would be available in a lot of places around the world too, but who knows. Maybe trying to contact Epiphone or Gibson or whatever is what I should’ve done. I’ll try that.

It’s a feature... and a bug. ;)

Kidding (kinda. I hate low output pickups).

I emailed Epiphone. Of course I will let you all know if/when I get a response.

Low impedance is not the same as Low Output, it only means it does not come out as a Hi Impedance signal like most passive instruments but with a signal similar to a Microphone called Low Impedance, or Lo-z . This means no loss of headroom through the cable. Normally you can only use a Low Impedance pickups if you have an XLR input in your amp.

It is an alternative to an active electronic without all the artifacts. Jonas Hellborg who is a massive tone geek use them.

The only issue is not everyone has an XLR input on their bass amp.
