I think this is the one that's been on eBay for months:

The price is a little high and I am not buying basses anymore but really enjoying the ones I have. When I was ready for my first bass in 1980, I had my vision on a Ric because of Wings, Yes and Rush. My teacher (great guy and we remained friends for years afterwards) was telling me that I should look at these new Music Man Basses and noted the Sabre. I am so happy I got my Ric and still have it but this bass has always been on the want list.

Damn, it's like a G&L and Musicman had a baby. Very cool!

Yep I believe this is the one that had the glitter on the edges and was sold and then came back up for sale after a clean up.

This one is at the Banjo Warehouse near Atlanta, GA. The price varies depending on where it's listed:

And here's the last thread where this one popped up (when it still had traces of the glitter glue):

Yeah, but it had glitter glue all over it and the ad wasn't really confidence inspiring.

On the other hand, I don't really think it's worth $3k now, but that's just one guy's opinion.

Agreed. Crazy price, even if it is rare.

I still find it fascinating that Pre-EB lefty Sabres pop up way more often than Stingrays, considering 'Rays were far more prevalent and successful for MusicMan. I traced the lefty production of both models to a single run in February/March of 1980, and the one for sale here is no exception, so maybe they ended up manufacturing more lefty Sabres in that run? I don't think I've seen a lefty 'Ray in over a decade!

For posterity, might as well keep a record of where this one pops up:

The Alberts Collection reverb Shop in Italy (Hendrix guitars) has absolutely ridiculous high prices. I have never seen anything sold there

Yeah, if you wanna gauge a fair price for a guitar, take what he charges and divide by 3.

Yeah that seller is mental. He happens to have an old Jazz I used to own. He’s selling it as all original, but it most certainly isn’t.

Apparently the “Rare Rosewood Fingerboard” being promoted in the Reverb title has gone missing, lol. He probably recycled copy from someone else’s listing.
