Thanks for the info. I'm gonna try locally. Southpaw is usually way more expensive than every retailer on the planet so I will keep you all posted.

the local shop by me has great prices, they have a righty bird for $1,445 plus tax, so $1,531. I payed $1,500 total so that seems like a great price, They also have a lefty ric mapleglow $2,400! ITs a $500 upcharge w ric. Hell I paid that for my custom ordered spector! All in al a killer deal

Wow that's high for the Ric. I paid $1900 (still ridiculous) but that's among the cheapest I've seen here lately.

I called a dealer in Nashville and asked about a lefty SG Bass. Definitely cheaper!

Whoa! Wonder if that means more lefty Gibsons at L+M too. Holiday in BC today so I won't know until tomorrow I guess.

I picked up the bass Yesterday.
The Good - Its very pretty, the paint looks good. It's around 9-10lbs, The fret work is nice, and the binding is well done. The neck is dead straight and I can get the action low w/o fret buzz. I like the volute(sp?) and the grover tuners feel solid. The pickups sound good and both have character when soloed and sound good together. The bass feels solid and doesnt feel cheap or flimsy.
The Bad - The pots are crap. The volume uses the first 10% of the sweep and the tone sounds like the cap isn't even attached.

Is this fully chambered? I'm surprised by the 9-10lbs weight. I was considering getting one of these but now I'm not so sure

Sound to me like the pots are reversed wired ... sigh .... but should be an easy fix
