Carlo Robelli, was one of the names Sam Ash Music sold instruments under, Hondo being the later ones- when I began there as a guitar tech in the Brooklyn, N.Y. store, in 1979. There was a lefty Carlo Robelli Jazz Bass, EXACTLY like that one, but no covers- and it played and sounded great. I had some custom basses, and was not into Fenders, or Fender copies at that time. I should have bought it.
