The description is all wrong, haha. They accidentally pasted in a description of an old Fender Stratocaster, haha.

The description has been corrected.

Yeah, I sent them a comment on Reverb and they responded immediately. Like <10min later. Took them awhile to update, though.

There's something about this shape I like, and that's why I bought this one several years back, from our own forum member Billw97, who also happens to be a bigwig at Hipshot.... :) And, I got the best deal on the planet for a 5-string Epic - $835.00, including the shipping - Bill was Super fair!

Just checked the Alembic website for the price of a new 5-string Epic - $6400 to start! Considering the Epic is their simplest, entry-level bass, with no fancy EQ setup, it's a tad difficult to imagine why wood, fret wire, and simple electronics in their shop will cost you near-to $2000 more than a Sadowsky, Lakland, Pedulla, etc... but like the legendary Levi's, sometimes it's more about brand name, than materials, and the mystique created.... I always wanted an Alembic, and I was very fortunate to get such an incredible deal on one!
