I'm looking for a good quality P-bass with maple neck. Must not weigh over the upper 9's. I would prefer an older Fender, but would consider any other high quailty brand.

Thanks

Just a little over your weight specs (no idea what your price range is):

And here's a cool antigua example:

Personally, I'd never pay that for the first listing. But the antigua basses are rare.

The Antigua is still slightly over-priced (it's been for sale for the past 2 years starting at 10k) but incredibly rare. I'd say at $1,800 it could sell to an Antigua (which I affectionately called Snotigua) fanatic.

Thanks for the heads up.... Yeah, I run across that bass during my daily eBay window shopping spree. That is a cool bass, but over my budget. Although, here's a new prospect...

Yeah I almost posted that link for you, but wasn't sure you'd dig the bad replacement decal and whatnot.

Aside from the HORRIBLE decal replacement and bad neck refinish, there's something "not right" about that bass...

The finish looks great but the way it wears tells me it is a nitro finish, not consistant with late 70's Fenders

I agree. I would tread carefully.

And Flav, you may consider a Warmoth build if you're not in too big a hurry. As someone whose played a lot of Warmoth stuff, I would highly recommend that option. That way, you could pretty much get whatever you want. At the end of the day, you could have about $1200-$1500 (depending on your chosen options) in a bad ass PBass.

I agree, the finish on that bass does not sit well with me either. Yep, I'm considering Warmoth too. The idea of building a bass to spec is very appealing.

I've got a '78 P w/maple neck 3 tone burst that I'd consider selling. It's got a tortoise PG on it but I'd include the original black. Hard case & knobs are not original. I'm not sure of the weight (it's heavy) but I can check it for you. What's your budget like?

Thanks for the offer, but another lefty user already hooked me up. Sounds like a nice bass, I hope you can find it a new home.

No worries. I'm not really hot to sell it. It just sits at home now since I moved to fivers exclusively. I'm the guy that got the Lull from Sly a few years back.
