I'm sort of at a point with a Precision project of mine where I'm deciding to use the body I have or get one from Warmoth. My body appears to be a mid-70's plywood knockoff that's not quite the exact shape of a Fender; it's close, but a standard pickguard won't fit. A Warmoth would be a definite upgrade, and probably what I end up with, but I figured it couldn't hurt to find out if there were other alternatives. BTW, I have a 2nd Precision body, but is a bit smaller than a standard P; it might very well be a mid-80's Squier medium scale body. Anyway, it won't fit my neck without routing, so I'll probably just sell it.

Hi Danomite,
I've got a MIJ Fender sunburst P body, no hardware, electronics or pick guard that was a project that I didn't start & am looking to unload it & am interested in your 2nd, downsized p body so maybe we can do a trade of sorts. I don't know what wood mine is but I'd guess basswood but will see if I can find the original invoice to clarify. Only prob is I'm in Japan so using USPS is the cheapest option. If your interested, let me know. Cheers, Glen

Basswood is probably right. I'm definitely interested. This body I have is black, has the w/b/w pickguard and screws, and a set of chrome knobs that all appear to be original. The wood looks like basswood to me, which is consistent with mid-80's MIJ Squier stuff. I can give you pics if you'd like. I'd like to see pics of your body, too.

A few more for you. BTW, I couldn't find the original description from when I bought it off Yahoo auctions about 3 yrs ago, they don't seem to keep them in a file as eBay does, so I guess it's basswood, from memory.
