Hey everyone! I am really looking for some help here. A while back someone stole my Rickenbacker Bowtie bass, MONO, off white on off white. It was taken from Grand Rapids, MI USA out of the case, so I am assuming that it will not have a case offered with it. I love this bass and really don't have a ton of extra cash to pay the 3k that people want for lefties these days. I can be emailed at: stevesecor@gmail.com

Any help you can give would be GREATLY appreciated.

Is that a lefthanded Rickenbacker 4003 Tuxedo, with the white fingerboard?
That must be a true one of a kind, even righthanded those are incredibly rare!

While Googling for images of a 4003 Tuxedo, I came across this:
http://www.rocknrollvintage.com/proddet ... ingerboard

That IS a lefty Tuxedo! Either you once bought it there and it's still online, they are offering yours for sale or there are at least two lefties in existence...

Best of luck to you. The bass is so rare that the thief will have a hard time selling it.

Hmmmm... Grand Rapids is not that far from Chicago... non-original case... certainly enough to merit further investigatation.... hopefully you have some documentation on the bass, serial number, photos that would show distinguishing marks, etc?

I would definitely see if Rock and Roll Vintage can send you some more photos. Or, are you close enough to them that you can stop over and check it out in person?

I will be going to Chicago in two weeks(give or take) for a work related matter. If you can PM me some of the distinguishing information I can make it a point of stopping by the shop and taking a look at it and letting you know what I find out about the bass. I just don't know much about Ricks, so the more info, the better.
