I am also interested in a medium scale precision.
But Wil was last online here an July 27th.
So he maybe already sold his bass, or is not longer interested in selling it.

Re: DIY Headless Shortscale Bass
Thanks a lot.
The body style is my own design.
Of course inspired by other designs, by not a copy of a particular bass.
I ever thought, if I would build my own bass, then I make something unique that you can't buy.
Never underestimate the power of a rasp and sandpaper combined with enough time ...

DIY Headless Shortscale Bass
Hello,
here are pics from a bass that I built this year totally from scratch:

It's my first bass, that I build on my own.
Only the sliced fingerboard, the trussrod and the pickup was bought as it is.
The rest was build by myself ...

Re: Entwhistle-Type Project...
Thx, I just wanted to warn against those cheapo DIY kits.
Some people think of DIY that is cheaper than a bought product.
But DIY only means, that it is built by your own hands. And mostly it is more expensive than an bought chinese-built product.

Re: Entwhistle-Type Project...
I saw those kits often on ebay. But I won't recommend it.
It is as cheap as it can get.
I heard that the hardware and pickups are the cheapest possible. So you have to replace them. This would cost more than the kit itself.
For this price the wood can't be high quality.

Re: For Sale: Lefty Hoyer Explorer Bass
I lower the price to 700 euro.
Because of the shape of the body, the Explorer is much longer than a usual longscale bass.
So the shipping costs are really expensive.

Yes, all BaseX have those bolt on neck, where the neck is mounted from the rear of the body.
Except for the custom orders that wanted a neck through BaseX.

I am from Germany and I own a Human Base Bass (not this one, because I would not sell it).
The Human Base Basses are a fine piece of german craftsmanship.

Long hair, black leather, spikes and a purple heartbreaker bass
Unfortunately they don't send to europe...

Re: 1983 Steinberger on ebay
I like the look of a steinberger.
But I am too young to played one back then, and nowadays the prices are a bit to high.
I am a player and no collector.
For this price you can get a custom-made/hand-made bass....

Re: '62 Fender Precision replica
Don't be ridiculus.
Don't be a moron, then.
Dudes, Rockbass was kidding. :)
Thanks for pointing that out.
Unfortunatelly, every high priced bass loses about 50% of its price, when it is used.
Even if it is still flawless.
Except if it is a very rare vintage instrument.

Re: For Sale: Lefty Hoyer Explorer Bass
Did Hoyer copied from Aria or Aria from Hoyer? ;)
Originally the explorer design is from Gibson in 1958. :geek:
Anyway I saw some diagonal stripes often on 80s Explorers.
But a lefty explorer very rare indeed. 8-)
I want to sell it, because it isn't my main intrument and I think this should be ...
