Edit: it let me go all the way to "complete order" so it was gonna work.

I had a less than stellar experience with the Rockbass Starbass... It was pretty much a POS with all sorts of issues from a bad backbow, a hump and a twist. Fit and finish looked like a cheap knockoff and ...

Re: 1990 Stenberger 5 String White

Even the 4-strings are narrow at 16.5 mm. I have never played a real Steinberger, but I do have a Hohner B2A and it has a feel all of its own (despite having played 5-strings with the same spacing). But they're sooo cool.

I mean, I played around with my buddy's righty 5-string rick... those have ...

Re: 1990 Stenberger 5 String White

Wow, I never knew they made lefty 5-strings! This is the first one of its kind I've seen. Very cool!

The fact that it's White (rare), 5-string (rarer), and lefty (rarest) made me pull the trigger. As a Geddy, Sting, Curt Smith fan for years... and also realizing I don't have a 5 string I moved ...

Re: I could not resist... Rickenbacker 4003

Well, it's basically perfect. Plays great and sounds great. I couldn't be happier.

The only issue is the typical tailpiece lift... I will keep an eye out for an 80s, black 7-point bridge, as I prefer not to mod this one... I will try to bend it back and do the simple shim fix in the bridge rout ...

Re: Warwick Rockbass Starbass

Well I finally got it last week... after a complete customs nightmare... eventually they left it at my front door without knocking, right in downtown Brooklyn... glad it wasn't swiped.

Just sat down with it to do a quick set-up and play it... Oh boy is this thing garbage. The neck is fucked, has a ...

I could not resist... Rickenbacker 4003

I have a 1991 Rickenbacker 4003 already. It's been my #1 since I got it new back in 1991. I've always regretted getting the color I did (Midnight Blue), cool color, but I'm not a blue guy... I always wish I had gotten Mapleglo, White, or Red... So this thing shows up...

Re: Warwick Rockbass Starbass

Never happened to me, but I've only done two int'l orders: a Sire from Thomann a few years ago, and a used Warwick from a private seller in Portugal in May.

I'm also really curious about these basses and would love to hear your thoughts. Some folks say they sound every bit as good as their German ...

Re: Warwick Rockbass Starbass

Just got a call from FedEx asking for tons of details for customs... wood type, varnish, what type of shirt, male, female, cotton, etc.

Has anybody had this happen. I told them they need to ask the shipper.

Weird.

Re: Which Delay Pedal Do You Use for Bass

I like older rack delays by Ibanez, Electra and Digitech. I like both analog and early digital units. The Electra EP-550 is one of the best sounding digital modulation delays I've ever heard. I also love the Ibanez AD-202. FOr bass I really like having the modulation. Used subtly it's very nice.

Re: Delusional Seller List

That price is crazy. They're amazing basses, but definitely not worth this asking price. 1000 sounds fair.
And if this is indeed checked and setup by their luthier, he could have at least cleaned the fingerboard and polished those frets. They almost look green!

At one point he said he could go ...

Delusional Seller List

So, Maybe this isn't allowed... a schadenfreude of sorts... but I feel we should be unified against this kind of madness... maybe we can post sellers that inflate prices and try to gauge us lefties...

First up, this idiot... not only is he asking almost 4-times what this is actually worth, he ...
