Re: Mike Lull PJ 4 in UK

I believe this is the same bass that was for sale with a private seller for a while on Basschat.co.uk:

https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/507710-withdrawn/

The price was a hell of a lot better then (eventually dropped to 1300 Pounds), yet it remained unsold for three months until the ad was pulled.

Re: Ibanez MC924L-DS Musician Bass Left-Handed

Sorry I'm late to the party.
I've owned this bass for over 10 years and it's always been solid and dependable. Zero issues. Neck adjusts well, preamp was fully functional, and everything but the holes for the thumb rest is completely stock. I traded it with Paulo including its original case, which ...

Re: Hofner Files for Bankruptcy

You can only sell so many violin basses. Not sure how big and relevant they were as a manufacturer of violins and classical guitars, but as far as their electrics go the violin bass really is their backbone. Their Verythin models and Club Bass for example, not so much. And their solidbody offerings ...

Re: RIC makes a short-scale … … kind of.

Yep, they're more or less based on the custom shortscales they made for Jesse Keeler, the bass player of Death From Above 1979:

But they kinda make you wonder why they didn't base it off the rare 1970s 4001 ...

Re: Looking for a Leo era G&L bass

Technically it is a passive bass, with a fully passive EQ (passive treble and bass, cut-only). All that's active about them is the boost circuit, which can be turned off, on or on with treble boost. They're unlike most other active basses :)

Re: '75 Fender Jazz with modifications in France - 2300€

Saw this, and was confused by the model designation being used: JB75-US is what Fender Japan called their 1975 reissue for a long time. Looks like a genuinely cool instrument though!

Re: White Stingray 5

I had one from before the Earvana compensated nuts, and it had none of the infamous G-string issues. Great bass, that I kinda wish I still had. I believe mine was a 2003 model, in the rare Autumn Redburst finish, and it looked spectacular under stage lights.

This would look rather splendid next to my equally white Status Graphite S2 Classic headless, but I'm pretty sure I would barely play it. GLWTS!

Re: Show me your Spector basses

I've only got Spector "copies" (Warwick Streamers) but I'd love to try one some day! They're a rare sight here in the Netherlands, unfortunately. I may have played a Rebop once at one of the lefty bass days Arni organized at CMS Duisburg, but it didn't leave a lasting impression. Took an Esh Stinger ...

And to think that these guitars were once dirt cheap because nobody wanted them...! The grunge and indierock guys only started playing offsets because they were available for little money, and because they were easy to mod. Bands like Nirvana, Sonic Youth and Dinosaur Jr (and, unrelated, Elvis ...

Did, yes. There was a Classic Vibe model for a while but it was discontinued much too soon. I would love one myself! I have an American Professional II Jazzmaster but would love to have the Squier as a platform for modding.

Re: Warwick STREAMER LX JAZZMAN 4

They frequently don't hold their value, for some inexplicable reason.

I think that may in part have something to do with their incredible price hikes for new instruments. I still remember vividly when German-made Corvette Standards were €600 new and stores would have trouble selling them. I'm ...

Wow, that's lush! Great choice of finish, and I really like the Nashville Tele config.

I got mine used, Fender doesn't offer the Mod Shop experience where I live. Got it for a great price, it's a 2020 model. It appears to have had a pickup upgrade to AVRI 62 Jaguar pickups, as no other options in ...

I've still got the pictures from Marc's original ad saved on my phone so I can kick myself for not buying it when I had a chance every time I scroll past them.

Now that it's back I really can't afford it, I've just bought a Fender American Professional II Jazzmaster and a Mod Shop Jaguar. Straying ...
