This is right near me, but does not appear to be listed locally.
I will go against the grain and say that I like the tiny headstock. :P
One neat thing about these is that the routing under the pickguard allows ...

RIC makes a short-scale … … kind of.
I guess RIC is making a short-scale, now. And, this is how they are doing it. This is just so RIC. It serves the purpose, but … I don’t know. Maybe our friends who like short-scale basses can chime in as to whether or not this might work.
I love ya, RIC. I really do. I will never part with mine ...

Re: Looking for a Leo era G&L bass
I just did a little experiment to determine if the L-2000 preamp draws from the battery even when in passive mode, and indeed it does.
I then removed the battery to see if the bass still operates normally in passive mode without the battery, and it does. So, really, the L-2000 can be completely ...

The aluminum 12-string
This one seems to have trouble finding a forever home. If I were made of money I would snatch it up and take off the octave strings just to see what an aluminum bass is like. I am an engineer by trade, so I am really interested in alternative materials and technologies. I have heard aluminum has its ...

Re: G&L L-2000 CLF
Well, Tim, I partially took your advice about the K-mod. I did what I am calling a “C-mod”, which is a half-assed K-mod. I did a little bit of digging and a fair bit of thinking (which I am not really good at), poked around with my meter, and I was able to install a couple of temporary jumpers to ...

Re: G&L L-2000 CLF
It doesn’t darken it by itself, no. It just conditions the wood and gives it a finish to bring out the natural color of the wood. Like if you have ever seen those wood turning videos on YouTube, when wood gets sanded it gets all pale and ashy, but when a finish gets applied, even a transparent ...

Re: G&L L-2000 CLF
The electronics are the same, as are the bridge and tuners. The only differences are cosmetic. They are:
1) The CLF electronics cavity is top-routed and covered with the metal plate like a Jazz bass, whereas the standard is rear-routed.
2) The CLF has the, “Lawsuit” headstock. Supposedly, this is ...

Re: G&L L-2000 CLF
Yeah, I may do that. I had the thought that if I were to do that, I may not even need my MJ-4 any longer.
I definitely won’t be doing that myself, though. I have zero soldering skills. I have seen videos where the guy is like, “okay, tin the tip here, touch the wire to the iron and then add ...

Re: Eastwood Sandman Signature Bass
Yeah, I am guessing Eastwood probably realized there isn’t too much demand for a lefty two-string bass, so they made the business decision to leave plenty of wood on the sides to do just that!pjmuck wrote:I think if I bought one, I'd immediately mod it to a 4 string.

Sold!
I guess that is what happens when a seller doesn’t get the Reverb memo that Ricks are to be listed for no less than $4000 no matter their age or condition!
