That looks almost exactly like the one I sold about 9 months ago for $700. It was a great bass and weighed just at 8 pounds. This guy is dreaming though.

Who pays retail???? I got my JJ Longhorn w/ the extra copperburst finish in a lefty for $825 shipped.
Is it worth it over my reissue Danos, absolutely. I must admit I wouldn't have done the deal at retail.

I vote also for a Jerry Jones. I had a 90's reissue Longhorn Dano and a lefty DC and neither came close to my JJ Longhorn and Shorthorn. Worth the extra $$ IMO. Pickups sound better , bass is much better made, everything is better. There's a righty Longhorn on Craigslist right now for about $500 ...

PJ, I knew this news would make you happy. Honestly, Jerry's longhorn is so much better than the 1990's reissue in every way- tone, neck ,feel, sound of the pickups, everything. Paint job more authentic. It's even lighter ( just under 6 lbs ).

Just got my classic Jerry Jones copperburst Longhorn. He's making his basses in lefty's again! Honestly, I don't know why I bothered w/ the Dano reissues. This thing absolutely rocks. Light as a feather and THUNDERS. Very sweet neck. He recessed the bridge into the body- very classy.

So, how do you like the new upside down Dano? How's the action, how does it sound?

I have to agree with PJ. I remember quite clearly when CBS took over fender. Everyone I knew involved w/ music in the SF Bay Area at the time (alot of people!) thought the quality went right down the tubes big time. In those days nobody would touch the stuff. Sometimes vintage just means old.

Of those 3, I'd go for the Honey.
